It was great to see my old friend, Allen again. As I was delivering a load of cabinets from Thompsontown, PA to Chattanooga, I got a call from the broker. Due to an unexpected deluge of rain, my delivery date was postponed a day. Apparently they can’t offload flimsy cabinets when it downpours. Since I was just approaching Tenn on I-81, I immediately called Allen to see if he wanted to get together.
Allen picked me up at the Pilot and since we were in the mood for tacos and margaritas, we visited Toro Mexican Grill in Dandridge, TN.
We started out with the usual: chips and salsa, and we ordered the Toro queso dip to give it a little extra pizzazz! Then we proceeded with the Magonada Margarita consisting of diced mangos, liquer and tequila.
Allen ordered the tacos, and I had the shrimp, steak and chicken fajitas. They were super tasty and very filling.
It was great to catch up with Allen since I had not seen him since he and his family visited DC in 2018. Prior to that was in Dandridge two years prior.
“Yeah, next time we should meet up in Darien,” I suggested.
“That would be great. We’re planning a family reunion down there later this summer.”
“Awesome, which classmates would you like to catch up with if you have time?” I asked.
“Bill Strickland and Timmy Burkhead are two off the top of my head.”
“Well I know where Bill works – Sea Island. But where the heck is Timmy nowadays?”
“That’s a great question. Think he’s still in McIntosh County. Where he works and lives is a big mystery,” Allen responded bewildered.
“Ok, then, next time we go down there, let’s see if we can locate him. He sure can’t be harder to find than the Altamaha-ha.”
