Profile
My first load with Landstar was a load I had not planned or hoped for. As I was wrapping up Orientation at Reedsville, PA, I got a call from an agent who needed a load moved that afternoon to arrive in North Myrtle Beach by the morning. Never to say No to an opportunity, I booked it. It had 3 stops, the last would be in North Charleston on Monday. Twist my arm, but I would be required to spend the weekend in Myrtle Beach. Since it’s spring break, parking is a premium at MB. I found free all day parking in North MB, near an RV campground. Saturday was windy but Sunday the winds died down. I had a nice day paddle boarding in Myrtle Beach. Paddled from Springmaid Pier in South MB TO 2nd Ave Fishing PIer in central, a distance of 3 miles, 6 miles roundtrip. Paddle boarding on the beach is a great hybrid sport. Besides actually stand up paddling, you get to catch some waves. Even on a calm day with only 5 knot winds, you can always ride the swells which makes SUP fun and exciting. When you get tired, you can always rest on your board and catch some rays. Paddle board calisthenics is always a great way to stay fit.  Then if the beach starts getting busy and you wanna join the excitement, I normally beach my board and go for a stroll or a run. Before I do that I would first deliberately wipe out on the next wave and go for a swim. While I’m in the water, might as well practice my crawl or breast stroke. The water in mid-March is in the mid 50’s, Â
After north beach, I visited another beach, this one situated several miles from the seashore.
Since 1995, Broadway at the Beach has really attracted plenty of tourists and locals as an attraction for food, entertainment, shopping and of course fun.
Señor Frogs was packed with a typical spring break crowd. Señor Frogs specializes in Caribbean and Mexican cuisine and plenty of cold beer and frozen drinks to wash down all those spices.
